Roots in Okinawa, Heart in India
Our lineage traces back to the traditional martial arts of Okinawa, refined through generations of dedication. Jyoshinmon Shorin-ryu was founded in 1969 by the legendary Grand Master Soke Hoshu Ikeda. A visionary martial artist, Soke Ikeda unified the explosive, agile techniques of traditional Okinawan Shorin-ryu with modern scientific principles of body mechanics. This unique blend created a style known for its speed, precision, and practical efficiency—preserving the ancient way of the warrior while adapting to the biomechanics of the modern practitioner.
Jyoshinmon translates to the school of the true heart. This philosophy emphasizes the integration of mind, technique, and body (Shin-Gi-Tai). Unlike styles that focus solely on power or speed, Jyoshinmon students learn to harness efficient body mechanics—using gravity, timing, and leverage rather than brute strength.
